Dear Esteemed Members of Wisconsin's Congressional Delegation:
Wisconsin members of the military will be prohibited from voting this year because of the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act.
Today the U.S. Department of Defense denied Wisconsin a MOVE Act waiver, which will result in the disenfranchisement of these American heroes. It is outrageous that our men and women in uniform put their lives on the line to protect our right to vote – the very right that they are being denied with today’s ruling.
I urge you to take immediate action, to press the U.S. Department of Defense to overturn its decision. I also ask that you appeal to the U.S. Department of Justice to grant this waiver.
Wisconsin previously had one of the best records in the nation for ensuring our men and women in uniform were able to vote. This ruling ensures our military personnel will be disenfranchised. I ask that you please do all you can fight to protect this right.
